Welcome to the Office of Aging and Adult Services (previously known as the Division of Long Term Supports and Services) . This office was formed within the Department of Health and Hospitals as a health care reform initiative. The OAAS brings together all of the long-term care programs that serve aging adults and people with adult-onset disabilities. These include Medicaid home and community-based long-term care programs, such as the Elderly and Disabled Adult Waiver, Adult Day Health Care Waiver, Long-Term Personal Care program and PACE.

The Office of Aging and Adult Services also administers nursing facility admissions and develops new long-term care programs, as well as implements other health care reform recommendations. The OAAS also oversees the operations of Villa Feliciana Medical Complex, John J. Hainkel Jr. Home and Rehab Center and Adult Protective Services.

The OAAS administers and manages the following programs:

·   Elderly and Disabled Adult Waiver (EDA)

·   Adult Day Health Care Waiver (ADHC)

·   Long Term Personal Care Services (LT -PCS) (State Plan Service)

Individuals who are Medicaid eligible can now receive Personal Care Services in their homes even without being in one of the waiver service programs.

·   Nursing Home Admissions Review

·   HIV Case Management

·   Adult Protective Services

·    Villa Feliciana Medical Complex

·    John J. Hainkel Jr. Home and Rehab Center

·   Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

Please feel free to visit this OAAS website regularly at www.oaas.dhh.louisiana.gov for program and services updates.

Home and Community Based Waiver services for children and adults with developmental disabilities (i.e., New Opportunities Waiver and Children’s Choice Waiver) are administered by the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (OCDD). To visit the OCDD web site, click here.
